The Color Run Braga - Pt 1

This last saturday it was the Color Run again in another city. This time I went as a runner (I mean, I walk, but it's almost the same), and not as a volunteer.
It's totally different! It's another perception of the event, and of course there is another kind of animation. In the volunteering it's fun because we know how it's going to be, we meet a lot of people, and the runners come to us to have fun, and we can play with things that the others can't. But being a runner it's different because we can do so much things! We can run, sing, dance, lie around the floor, scream, paint another people and us, see the concert. Enjoy it all!
As you all know, Portugal it's not in a very good economic situation, it's in a very gray situation. So it's good to have days like this when color it's everywhere and we forget for a bit the troubles of our lifes.
It's an event to everyone at all ages! Young, teen, adult, senior, even dogs (altough I'm not very pro  respecting on taking dogs to this event) everyone can go and enjoy it the same way. The "dust" it's nothing more than cornstarch with some dye that has flavour. It's a day that no one will laught at you because we wanted to dance, or do something silly in public. It's a day to be happy and free.
So we went earlier, to get together, get one ticket, get some stuff from the merchandising store. And get around a bit.

At a moment, we had to go to the start point because we heard "5 minutes to the departure" and we were alarmed because it was still missing 2 hours to the departure. So we went to there, and been there spreading some colors on us... and water! Yes, there were firemans spreading water to us from the fire trucks. It's was so cold! Really cold! And we were there for a lot of time, dancing, making waves, waiting.... Me and my friends were the first group to departure. On the Color Run, like there are a lot of people running/walking/dancing they make groups of 1000 persons to departure each.

We very dry

We all wet

And at some point it was 6 P.M...

New Look!!

Hello dears!!

This weekend I decided to change my haircut and its color. I cut it a little bit and dyed it purple. YES!! PURPLE!!
I didn't dye all my hair purple. Around the roots it's still my natural color, which is really close to black. The ends are a little more light that the rest.

It was a bit of a drastic change for me, I was fearful but I end up doing it and guess what?? I like it!!

Here's the result...

What do you think??

See you!!

Friday Night Movie Fever :: Star Trek

Source : Google Images

Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013)
Director: J. J. Abrams
Writers: Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Gene Roddenberry, Damon Lindelof
Stars: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Zaldana

***
Last weekend, I went to see "Star Trek: Into Darkness". What can I say? I was expecting more. It's true Star Trek histories are not based on action. After all, Enterprise it's an exploring ship. But there was too much talking in the movie. The plot is very simple, predictable, and based on the interactions of the characters, like the relationship of Mr Spock and Captain Kirk. For a person that never saw any of the episodes of Star Trek series, or the old movies, won't even get some lines or some scenes (and the irony like one of the last scenes on this movie). I'm not saying that I don't like the history from the Universe of Star Trek but we have to see from this point of view: we are passing from a serie to a movie so it cannot be so much focused on the relationships as the serie, and we have way more capability then back in the old times to create action.
Zachary Quinto as Spock, makes a hell of a character. He got the paper so well. Of course, it's no Leonard Nimoy, Spock Nimoy will be always Spock Nimoy. But, Spock Zachary it's very near, in fact makes the human side of Spock more plausible. Chris Pine makes an hiperactive Captain Kirk. Yes he is a more young Captain Kirk, but still too much alive, I believe. And Lieutenant Uhura, I have nothing to say. But, my favorite actors on this movie were Karl Urban as Dr. Bones, just like the old one, grumpy and funny at the same time, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan. If all the villains had the looks and voice of Khan, I would be on the wrong side. I would fall asleep with the sound of his voice. Totally amazing! And he makes a cold and pshyco Khan.
The special effects are aweome! About technical errors on the plot, I found one or two, but nothing more.
In the end, it was a good story of this new parallel universe on the Star Trek history. Let's see if more movies comes out, witth less talking, and more killing.

MUSE :: The 2nd Law World Tour - Summer Stadiums 2013 @ Dragon Stadium

Hello everyone ^^

Here we are to show you one of the best concerts of our live.... Muse @ Dragon Stadium - Porto, Portugal.

June 10th, Muse returned to Portugal with The 2nd Law Tour!!!!

I don´t have words to describe what I felt, but hysteria comes close enough.

We arrived at the stadium at 2 p.m. and there was a crowd large enough to make us think that we were going to be far way from the stage. We were wrong, we got pretty close to the stage!!!
The day was kind to us because it was supposed to rain thou it didn't. And thank God, otherwise we were going to be soaked!!

WE ARE THE OCEAN open the concert. They are a punk band from U.K. They were nice, but we were just too excited and we wanted to Muse to show up already :)

At 9.45 p.m. the stage goes dark and the lady from the Unsustainable shows up on the screen, and that was the Intro to "Supremacy" and there was a lot of flames from the circle pits above the stage (and it was hot as hell).

Next was "Supermassive Black Hole" and "Panic Station". In this song, Cristiano Ronaldo appears on screen, but also Angela Merkel who was booed by the crowd.

"Bliss" and "Resistance" followed and next was Animals. It was so theatrical. On the screen showed greedy mans and then one of them shows up on the stage throwing money to the crowd.

Then Chris plays the harmonica on the intro to "Knights of Cydonia". Just beautiful!!! Next Chris and Dom do a little solo cover of "Dracula Mountain" by Lightning Bolt allowing Matt to place himself on the piano to play "Sunburn".

"Interlude" + "Hysteria" played next and it was total hysteria!!

Another theatrical moment with "Feeling Good". A girl is talking angrily on the fone while working and ends up killing herself with gasoline on the b-stage. A good metaphore for today's world price of fuels and the madness of our jobs.

"Follow me" it's a great song, but live.. My God it was superb. Matt's voice is amazing and chills went down my spine hearing it live.

On "Liquid State" Chris takes over the vocals and he's so so good :) I'm sorry that we didn't have the chance to hear him sing "Save me" (one of my favorites!!).

"Madness" was total madness :) I really could careless what people say about this song and the dubstep and bla bla bla. It's a great song!! And the "I need to love" part gets me all the time.

And then we heard the chords of "The House of the Rising Sun" the intro to "Time is Running Out".

The next song was chosen by the Russian Roulette. Its was between "New Born" and "Stockholm Syndrome". "New Born" was the winner!! And the first part of the show was over.

They return to the b-stage and my favorite moment of the whole concert happens. Matt starts to sing "Unintended", one of my ultimate favorite. It was a teary, heartwarming performance. The crowd light up their fones. Speechless!!

Another heartwarming moment with "Guiding Light". Then in "Undisclosed Desires" Matt starts greeting the mass, picks up one of the many Portugal flags that people brought.

The first Encore of the night starts with "Unsustainable" and we could see Charles (the robot) on the stage!!

"Plug in Baby" was next, and it was one of the most screamy and jumpy moments :)
"Survival" played live is another treasure. So emotional!! So good!!

The second Encore starts with "Uprising" and on the screen appears a lot of Chris' and Dom's and Matt's. So cool!!

And the last song was "Starlight". I like this song but I hoped it was a different one ending this AWESOME show.

There is so much more to say about this concert!! It was transcendent, epic!!! Worth every penny.

WE were lucky to be there!!

See you around!!

Talking About : Buying clothes

Internet helped a lot globalization. And we have an enormous, almost infinite offer of things. Sometimes I'm even worst on online stores than on physic stores. I'm like a baby, says my boyfriend " Oh I want this, one please give me this. Oh no, this is way more beautiful I have to have this". Really, embarrassing guys. But, to be honest, clothes, one of things that I love to see on internet I haven't buy once. One of the trends in blogs it's to do outfits post, right? And (although in some blogs I thing it's futil but that's another conversation and are really few) it's great, because blogs are for help, spread ideas, spread opinions, and outfit post helps people see the that piece on a person,  new pattern combinations, ideas for that wedding, for that dinner. And know about new brands, advertising! But, and this is my problem, what if the clothes looks so well on the person that you saw dressed but on you doesn't fit so well? That's my problem with online stores. I'm crazy for Modcloth, my gosh, how I would love to buy something in that store, but besides my problem with online stores, it's in USA and the shipping it's so expensive! I have a big constitution: I'm tall, I have hip, because I made a lot of swimming when I was young until my middle ages of teen I have large back and shoulders, and I have that little annoying fat that was created by the stupid low-waist pants. So I have to fit every cloth I were before I buy it. I have some problems on buying blouses for examples. I know that some stores have the sizes of the clothes or you can ask for the store owner, but it's not the same. That doesn't mean that I will never buy online clothes. And again, some stores have returning policies. But for me it's a problem, I will have to be honest.

But it comes another problem after this. If I don't buy online I will have to buy on the stores next to me, right? But what stores are that? Multinational stores: Zaras, Mangos, Bershkas, Timberland, Throttleman etc. Some brands I love to buy there I have to admit, but it rises another problem: if you buy there you are helping for the clothes being produced in contries like Indionesia, China, and other countries were the employees are so cheap that they can work for a bowl of rice per day. No one can compete with that. We have to be pro local stores from independent small business. Internet have changed a lot and helped small independent business, which it's great. Now you will tell me " But it's way more expensive". Yes it is, but it was made by a person who loves what does it, made with quality products, made by hand, and it will help that country economics. If you realize, since countries start to built there factories on places like Marrocos, Indonesia, India, China, etc, their profits raised enormously, because they changed to cheaper labors that will work in precarious conditions, to cheaper raw material, and they didn't changed the final price on the stores. So imagine how many profit they don't get. Plus, you will buy clothes that have less quality than before. I see the difference. For example Timberland shoes. I love Timberland outdoor sneakers, and because of the problem I had on my left feet I have to have a shoe with a good sole quality. But this past few years, the sneakers aren't just the same. Some of them in a year they start to be with something wrong, or some stuff unsticking. The same happens for pants. I love the brand Bus, but their pants in the last 6 years, the pants are horrible, in a year they start to be scratched.

So what to do? That's my problem, and somedays I love a piece of vesture, I think of everything I say to you, and I forget it. But I believe that are some solutions:
- Try to be careful to the stores labels. "Shana" it's a brand that their clothes are made in Europe which it's a plus for her.
- Try to go for local markets that will have small independent business showing their work. Normally are people  that make clothes. And this have a plus also: a few people will have that piece equal as you.
- About buying online, it's the same thing, try to buy on small independend business  and if you have problems like I have, go for clothes that you know the model it's an easy for you, that you will not have problems on that to fit you well. Try to choose an online store that have returning policie, in case that you don't want the clothes you bought.
- Go to flea markets, or to people that are selling/exchanging clothes on second hand.

It's not easy has it seems I know but I believe, that if everyone will have carefull when it turns to buy clothes small bussiness will grow, and will have more physical stores for them. Check Katherine blog "Of Corgis and Cocktails", she also talked about the problem of clothes made in your country and made in other places. She explains very well what's the problem.
What do you think about this? I would like what you think, and if you have any suggestion for my problems and the problems of other peoples I will be glad.

Love,
Sofia G

P.S.: Wish us luck! Today we going to the... MUSE CONCERT!!! Finally, after 7 months with the tickets bought we are finally gonna see them. Pitty, it's raining like cat and dogs, but it doesn't matter!
